Colorado woman in custody for sexual assault of a child
A Granby, Colo., woman is in custody on charges of Sexual Assault of a Child, Incest and Child Abuse.
By News Channel NebraskaSIDNEY -- A Colorado woman is in custody after she was returned to Nebraska on sex assault charges.
Abby Jean Hale, 34, of Granby, Colo., was brought back to Nebraska on July 29.
She is facing charges of Sexual Assault of a Child in the First Degree (Class IB Felony), Incest (Class IIA Felony), and Child Abuse (Class IIA Felony).
Sexual Assault of a Child in the First Degree carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years and maximum of a life sentence. Incest has no minimum sentence and a maximum of 20 years.
According to court records, the incident occurred between March 1 and April 30, 2024. Records show two children were interviewed by Capstone.
A warrant was issued for Hale's arrest on May 21, 2025.
