CHAPPELL, Neb. – After five years of serving as a gathering place in downtown Chappell, The Rusty Bucket Pub and Grub will close its doors at the end of the month, owner Eddie Davidsen announced.

In a message to customers, Davidsen said the decision to close on Aug. 31 was a difficult one, citing the demands of working more than 90 hours a week on the road and the challenges of devoting time to the restaurant and community.

“The Rusty Bucket has been more than just a business. It’s been a place of laughter, connection, and comfort,” Davidsen said. “Thanks to our outstanding manager and staff, we’ve built something truly special. I’m deeply proud of what we’ve accomplished together and grateful for the unwavering support from the town of Chappell.”

Davidsen added that while the restaurant will close, it will also be listed for sale, with the hope that new ownership will continue to serve the community.

“My hope is that someone with fresh energy and vision will continue to grow what we’ve started and keep serving this wonderful town with the same heart and dedication,” he said.

Since opening, The Rusty Bucket Pub and Grub has been known as a local gathering spot for food, drink, concerts and community events.
