Kimball's Farmer's Day Committee in search of dignitaries for 99th annual event

Kimball's Farmer's Day celebration is coming up September 26th through the 28th. The affair will incorporate several smaller events taking place downtown and around Kimball.

One of the long standing traditions of Farmer's Day is the naming of dignitaries. A Grand Marshall, an Outstanding Entrepreneur, an Outstanding Volunteer and of course an Outstanding Farmer or Rancher are selected each year. The dignitaries are honored at a ceremony in advance of the parade on Saturday morning, then climb aboard parade entries to be celebrated again during the parade.

You can nominate an entrepreneur, a volunteer, a farmer or rancher and a grand marshall by filling out a short form linked to the Farmer's Day Facebook page by searching Kimball Farmer's Day. The form will ask for a name, and contact information for the nominee and ask if they know about the nomination. From there, you'll be able to describe why your nominee is deserving of the honor. Nominations are open to the public, with winners of each title being decided by the Farmer's Day Committee.
