Ogallala police seek information in dog bite case
Ogallala police are asking for help identifying the owner of a pit bull involved in a dog bite near the legion baseball field. A $1,000 Crime Stoppers reward is being offered.
By News Channel NebraskaOGALLALA, Neb. – Police in Ogallala are asking for the public’s help in identifying the owner of a dog involved in a bite incident earlier this month.
According to Tri-County Crime Stoppers, a woman reported being injured around 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 10, after a dog attempted to attack her own pet near the legion baseball field. The victim told police she was holding her dog when a red and brown pit bull, with some black coloring on its face, broke free from its owner and lunged. The woman sustained injuries while trying to protect her dog.
The pit bull’s owner, who was driving a small white pickup with no visible license plate information, reportedly refused to give the victim his name or any other details before leaving the scene.
The Ogallala Police Department is investigating the incident. Tri-County Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for anonymous information. Anyone with information is urged to contact Tri-County Crime Stoppers or the Ogallala Police Department.
