North Platte police arrest two after license plate reader flags stolen vehicle

A man wanted for a parole violation in South Dakota was arrested in North Platte last week.

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - A man wanted for a parole violation in South Dakota was arrested in North Platte last week.

According to the North Platte Police Department, officers were alerted through the automatic license plate readers that a stolen 2015 Jeep Laredo was located on Newberry Access Road near Interstate 80 on Thurs. Sept. 4.

Officers made contact with Isiah Leblanc, 25, and Ashya Red Bear, 45, and ran a check of the vehicle which showed the Jeep was stolen from Sioux Falls, South Dakota on Aug. 1.

Leblanc and Red Bear were arrested for possession of stolen property, a class IIA felony, and theft by receiving stolen property, a slass II misdemeanor.

Leblanc also had a warrant for his arrest from South Dakota for a parole violation.

Leblanc and Red Bear were arrested and booked in the Lincoln County Detention Center on a $25,000 bond at ten percent.
