CHEYENNE COUNTY, Neb. -  The Cheyenne County Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with E3, Sidney Economic Development and several local organizations, is launching “Marketing Hometown America,” a new program designed to strengthen community engagement and highlight the county as an attractive place to live and visit.

The kickoff meeting is set for Oct. 15 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Elks Lodge, where participants can sign up for four weeks of community discussion groups beginning Oct. 20. The groups will focus on what makes Cheyenne County unique and explore ways to enhance those assets.

“This initiative is about uniting our community and leveraging our unique strengths to attract new residents, new employees, and even tourists,” Chamber Director Joe McCarn said in a statement. “We are excited to see the creative ideas that will emerge from our community conversations and how together we can make Cheyenne County shine.”

An Action Forum will be held Nov. 18 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Elks, where participants will vote on the best ideas to guide future community projects. Organizers say the process will include ongoing coaching and support to ensure the ideas can be put into action, including a future “Welcome Weekend” event to showcase the county.
