KIMBALL -- The Kimball Police Department has made two major arrests this month.

The Kimball Police Department was dispatched to Kimball Health Services on Oct. 3 in reference to a reported child abuse incident.

Upon further investigation, evidence of child abuse was discovered, which resulted in the arrest of 81-year-old Paul Juett, who is a Sidney resident.

Juett has been charged with Class IIIA Felony Child Abuse, and this case remains under investigation.

His bond was set at $5,000 with the right to post 10%, and he has since bonded out. His next court hearing is Nov. 12.

Officers conducted an investigation into a series of concerning emails and messages, which led to the arrest of Jonathon Richards, 29, of Kimball on Oct. 6.

Richards has been charged with 1D Felony Possession of a Deadly Weapon by a Prohibited Person and Class 1 Misdemeanor Violation of a Protection Order.

He was arraigned in Kimball County Court Oct. 7 where Judge Derek Weimer (who was handling the case for County Court Judge Randin Roland) set his bond at $50,000.

All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
