Brooke's Place opens to serve breakfast and lunch

Brooke Lloyd has taken over the location of the former Grandma Jo's, and has opened Brooke's Place. She is focusing on comfort food served in a relaxing environment.

SIDNEY -- The corner of 12th and Illinois Street will again have a place for breakfast and lunch.

Brooke's Place officially opened Wednesday morning to breakfast customers served by Brooke Lloyd and her staff. She said it has been a dream to have her own restaurant.

"It's something I have always wanted to do since I was a kid, and you work really hard to get towards things. I had an opportunity and here I am," Lloyd said Wednesday morning. 

Brooke's Place offers a familiar menu of omelettes, french toast, pancakes and assortment of breakfast entrees, starting at 6 a.m. The menu starts changing to lunch at 11 a.m.

Her dream of opening a restaurant has been a long time coming. She has worked in food service and service industries for several years.

"It's just something I've always had the passion for, for cooking, serving as well as serving people," she said.

The focus of Brooke's Place is a place that is comfortable, with food that is good to eat. Her vision is a diner attracting residents an people passing through alike.

"Currently, we are Wednesday through Sundays, 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.," she said.
