Bridgeport man scheduled for sentencing on sexual assault charges

BRIDGEPORT, Ne. -- Jesse D. Russell is due in Morrill County District Court December 1 for sentencing.

He was arrested Dec. 30, 2024 in Bridgeport on charges of Sexual Assault/Child-Third Degree/Prior (Felony), Commit Child Abuse Intentional/No Injury (Felony) and Disturbing The Peace (Misdemeanor). Charges were amended to Attempted of Class 3A Felony (Attempt of 3rd Degree Sexual Assault, and Attempt of Class 3A Felony Attempted-Intentional Child Abuse. Charges of Disturbing the Peace and Commit Child Abuse Negligently/No Injury were dropped. 

He pleaded No Contest to both charges. The court found him guilty.

Sentencing is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. December 1 in Morrill County District Court.
