KIMBALL -- The community can expect to see increased police presence on the streets for the remainder of the year as part of the nationwide Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign. 

The campaign started December 10, and goes through January 1, 2026, during which time officers with the Kimball Police Department will be increasing patrols to focus on impaired driving. 

Chief of Police Jose Ruiz said the Kimball Police Department received a grant of $1,750 to accommodate extra hours the officers will spend on patrol. 

“Our goal is simple: keep our roads safe during the holiday season,” Ruiz said. “If the impaired drivers are off the road, the safer it is for our general public to travel.”
