SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNEP) -Scottsbluff Police Department says they are in their 25th year conducting Click It or Ticket. The campaign reminds drivers to wear seat-belts during each and every trip or pay a fine.

Scottsbluff Police are teaming up with other law officers across city, county and state lines to enforce this.

“In Nebraska, we know three out of ten drivers do not buckle up before driving,” says Scottsbluff Police Department Sergeant Philip Eckerberg. “We did a survey in September and our seat belt usage rate then was 58.75 percent. And I did the seat belt survey this last Saturday and our usage rate was 46.75 percent. So we lost 12 percent over the last couple of three months.”

Click It or Ticket runs until November 29.
