Sidney Wrestlers 5th at Gothenburg Duals

GOTHENBURG - Sidney had four wrestlers go undefeated on the day on the way to a fifth-place finish at the Gothenburg Dual Tournament on Saturday. The Red Raiders went 2-2 in Pool B, defeating Adams Central 68-11 and Alliance 60-9 but falling to Broken Bow 52-18 and Minden 45-33.

Going undefeated in the tournament for Sidney was Chance Houser who was 2-0 at 113 lbs. and 3-0 at 120 lbs. Austin Munier went 5-0 at 126 lbs. while Julian Maytorena was 4-0 at 145 lbs. Dietrich Lecher rounded out the list of undefeated Sidney wrestlers going 4-0 @ 195 lbs. and 1-0 at 220 lbs.

The tournament was won by Broken Bow who defeated Gering 36-22 in the Championship match. Minden took third by beating Colby Kansas 42-31. Sidney knocked off Gothenburg 54-27 for fifth place. Seventh place went to Chadron as the Cardinals defeated Adams Central 45-9. Alliance ended the day in nineth.
