The Bridgeport Bulldogs coasted past the Sioux County Warriors Tuesday night, picking up a 78-30 victory.

Bridgeport raced out to an 11-0 lead in the first two minutes in the girls’ contest and rolled to a 30-7 advantage in the first quarter. The pace was more even in the second quarter, with Bridgeport inching out the Warriors 17-13 but still staking a 47-20 lead into the locker room. The Bulldogs continued to bring full-court pressure after the break and dropped another 22 and allowing just five points by the Warriors. Bridgeport capped the game with a 9-5 run. The Bulldogs’ Olivia Loomis-Goltl had a big night with 27 points, and her sister Ruthie added 16. Rachel Krein led the Warriors with 14 points.

Since the Sioux County boys played the Bridgeport JV, the contest will not be reflected in their season record. The Warriors trailed 16-11 after one quarter, but Bridgeport pulled away in the second with a 15-5 run for a 31-16 lead at half-time. The action was even again in the third, with the Bulldogs inching out a 16-15 run, but they finished strong outpacing the Warriors 17-2 in the final quarter. Chance Heine led Bridgeport with 19 points, and Logan Metz and Juan Castano added 16 and 14. Tucker Monroe led the Warriors with 17. Shane Gluth added 10 for Sioux county.
