Red Raider Golfers 6th at Hastings

The Sidney Red Raider boys golf team played their way to a sixth-place finish at the Hastings Tiger Invitational on Thursday at Lochland Country Club in Hastings.

HASTINGS – The Sidney Red Raider boys golf team played their way to a sixth-place finish at the Hastings Tiger Invitational on Thursday at Lochland Country Club in Hastings. Class A teams Grand Island, Kearney, and Columbus swept the top three places, with Sidney's 368 team total a whopping 53 strokes behind tournament winner Grand Island. The Islanders' 315 total edged Kearney by four strokes for the tournament title with Columbus 12 back with 331. Hastings shot 348 to take fourth place followed by North Platte just one shot behind for fifth place.

Grand Island's Marcus Holling posted an even par 72 to take top medalist honors with Brock Kuhlman of Columbus just two shots back. Sidney had 2 golfers finish in the top-20. Logan Johnson came in 15th with an 86 while John Beier was right on his heels in 16th with an 87.

Sidney is back on the links on Thursday, April 21st when they travel to Wild Horse Golf Club in Gothenburg for the Gothenburg Invitational.
