Possible severe weather in western Nebraska Thursday

SIDNEY - Strong thunderstorms, possibly severe weather, is expected across Nebraska through Saturday, according to News Channel Nebraska Chief Meteorologist Geoff Fox.
The National Weather Service office in Cheyenne says scattered thunderstorms will develop around the Nebraska Panhandle at approximately 6 p.m. Thursday. Storms will move northeast at 30 mph, but some of the severe storms may move east.
The primary threat with the storms on Thursday will be gusty winds and ping pong ball size hail. The severe weather chances shift east for Friday.
The NWS also placed the Nebraska Panhandle and a portion of southeast Wyoming in a high wind watch. The watch is in effect from Friday evening through Saturday evening.
Northwest winds of 30-40 mph, with gusts up to 65 mph are forecast. Patchy blowing dust is possible on Saturday across the western Nebraska panhandle, especially further south near the Interstate 80 corridor where lower rainfall amounts are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
