Sidney Golfers Third at Cozad

The Sidney Red Raider Golf team shot their way to a third-place finish at the Cozad Invitational at Cozad Country Club on Monday. Led by John Beier’s nineth place finish with an 82, Sidney’s 343 team total edged out host Cozad’s 345 for third place.

COZAD - The Sidney Red Raider Golf team shot their way to a third-place finish at the Cozad Invitational at Cozad Country Club on Monday. Led by John Beier’s nineth place finish with an 82, Sidney’s 343 team total edged out host Cozad’s 345 for third place. Ogallala won the tournament with 320, followed by North Platte St. Pats with 331.

Teegan Sonneman of North Platte St. Pats shot a 75 for low medalist honors, just one stroke ahead of Caleb Castillo of Ogallala with 76. Sidney’s Asher Wadzinski was 12th with an 84 while Jack Lilley finished top-20 with an 88.

Sidney is back on the links at Crandell Creek Golf Couse in Ogallala on Thursday fo the Ogallala Invitational. Schools invited are Alliance, Chadron, Cozad, Gering, Gothenburg, Hershey, McCook, Ogallala, Perkins County, Scottsbluff and Sidney. The tournament is scheduled to tee of at 9:0 a.m. MDT.
