The National Weather Service in Cheyenne is tracking the potential for severe weather over the Nebraska panhandle Tuesday and Wednesday.

The better chance for severe thunderstorms is on Wednesday, according to the NWS. They have determined that most of the panhandle is under an enhanced risk for severe weather Wednesday.

The NWS says all modes of severe weather are possible, including large hail, damaging winds, heavy rains both days and the possibility of tornadoes on Wednesday.

Heavy winds may gust up to 60-65 miles per hour and heavy rain may result in areas of flash flooding on Wednesday.

"Keep and eye on the sky today and particularly Wednesday," The NWS Cheyenne office posted on its website. "Stay tuned to your favorite local weather sources for later updates and have a way to receive warnings so you are not caught unaware."
