SIDNEY, Neb. — The Sidney Police Department announced the days and times when citizens can shoot off fireworks.

The discharge of permissible fireworks will be allowed beginning at 8:00 a.m. on June 25th and ending at 1:00 a.m. on July 5th.

Permissible fireworks can be discharged between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. on June 25th, through, and including July 3.

On July Fourth, fireworks can be discharged from 8 a.m. until 1 a.m. the next day.

Fireworks are also allowed on New Year’s Eve from 5 p.m. December 31st until 1 a.m. January 1st.

Police said any other fireworks let off outside of those times, will require a special permit. The permit may be issued if approved by Sidney City Manager.

Authorities also ask people to be mindful of pets.
