MITCHELL – The Lady Raider volleyball team earned their fourth straight set victory in five matches with a road win over Mitchell Tuesday night. Sidney overpowered the Tigers 25-19, 25-15, 25-13 to improve to 4-1 on the season. The Lady Raiders’ serve kept Mitchell on their heels as Sidney outhit the Tigers 30-14 in the match.

The Lady Raiders pounded 10 kills and had six ace serves as Sidney sprinted to a 19-7 lead in the first set. Mitchell rallied with an 11-3 run to cut the lead to 22-18, primarily behind Sidney hitting errors, but that’s as close as the Tigers could get. Sidney closed out the set for a 25-19 win.

Sidney was led by Karsyn Leeling’s 14 kills. Chloe Ahrens and Kayla Westby added five kills apiece. Rheagan Stanley had five of the Lady Raiders’ 12 ace serves on the night.

Sidney will travel to Cozad for this weekend’s eight team Cozad Invitational. Teams involved are Ainsworth, Centura, Cozad, Gothenburg, Hastings St. Cecelia, Ogallala, Valentine, and Sidney.
