SIDNEY -- The dice rolled and support for the Elks renovation project drew interest.

The Sidney Elks Lodge offered a way to celebrate the new year with a "Casino Night December 31. Proceeds from the night went to the building renovation project.

Elks member Rob Kuhns said the New Year's Eve celebration brought in about $13,000 to $15,000.

"It was a good night," he said.

Kuhns said about 119 tickets were sold with a 200 event capacity.

"Everybody seemed to have a really good time," Kuhns said.

Each ticket sold included $250 in chips. A player could buy in for more. The "high stakes" table allowed gamblers to play no-limit with play  continuing until one player is left.

Gamblers could view artist renditions of the Elks Lodge renovated with new decor, theater seating returned to the second floor, the bar moved to the south wall and antique lighting.
