SIDNEY - A new Heartland Country music artist will make his Nebraska Panhandle debut Friday night at The Rusty Bucket Pub and Grub in Chappell.

B.J. Jamison, a rancher from Ashby, Neb., picked up his first guitar five years ago and was in his first band by the age of 15.

"A lot of it came kind of came from family," Jamison said. "I had a sister who played and sang for a while. My grandpa played and sang for awhile, and he was up in the radio business. I just decided to pick-up a guitar and try and learn it. It kind of took off from there."

The now 19-year-old released and debuted his first solo single, "Lost Without You," on 987 The Big Boy on March 14. The single was written and produced by another Heartland Country music artist, Luke Mills.

Jamison wants his music to create a reaction and sense of enjoyment from the crowd while he's enjoying performing for them. He says he likes songs he can relate to, so he's aiming for his music to do the same for his listeners.

"I just kind of want to make it to the national level where I can still put out music," Jamison said. "Then everyone can hear it throughout the whole country and other countries."

Jamison hits The Rusty Bucket stage at 8 p.m. Friday. He'll play a bull sale on Saturday in Whitman, Neb.
