The City of Kimball will sponsor their annual free pick-up of large and unwanted items from April 17th to April 28th and a tire cleanup from the 20th to the 22nd.

The pick-up is only open to City of Kimball residents. You must fill out, sign and turn in a form to the city if you choose to participate. Then just leave your unwanted goods in the alley or by the curb for the city to pick-up.

Items that you can have picked-up include appliances, furniture, tree branches and furniture. You can only dispose of paint if it has already dried. No liquids or hazardous waste will be accepted.

While tires will not be picked-up during this period, the county has a way for you to dispose of those too.

Kimball county residents can drop off their scrap tires at the Kimball County Landfill April 20th through the 22nd from 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. through 3:30 p.m.

The tire clean-up is funded by the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality who will accept 250 tons of tires on a first come, first served basis.

No tires on the rim will be accepted and no commercial tire haulers or tire businesses qualify for the event.

Residents will be asked to provide a count of their tires and unload their own tires at the landfill. Residents with more than 50 tires are asked to call the landfill in advance at 308-235-3639.
