GURLEY - One man was transported to Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff via medical helicopter after a tractor he was working on ran him over and pinned him beneath the wheel.

Cheyenne County Sheriff Adam Frerichs says the 67-year-old man and his brother were working on a tractor Wednesday morning near Gurley when it lurched forward on top of him. Extrication equipment was used to free the man.

One medical professional who responded to the scene told News Channel Nebraska on Thursday the man was expected to be okay.

The Nebraska State Patrol, Regional West Medical Center ambulance, and Dalton and Gurley Fire Departments also responded to the scene.
