SIDNEY -- From idea to structure, Cheyenne County again has a Rotary Club.
The Cheyenne County Rotary Club was chartered June 15, 2023. The Cheyenne County Rotary Club joined the network of over 1.4 million members and 34,000 clubs that are doing good in the world. By starting this new club, they are People of Action!
The concept started with District 5630 Governor Deb McCaslin and Past District Governor Robert Mayber reaching out to members of the Cheyenne County community. Members in attendance were inspired to begin a Rotary Club to encourage positive change within our community.
Since then, the Cheyenne County Rotary Club has hosted a day at the park for children at Sidney’s North Park and plans to be present during the showing of Sounds of Freedom at the Fox Theatre July 7-13 in Sidney.
Social meetings are held at 5 p.m. the second Thursday of each month at The Rock Sports Bar & Grill basement. Business meetings are 8 a.m. on the fourth Thursday of each month at the Sidney Regional Medical Center Conference Room.

History of Rotary Club:
Rotary started with the vision of one man — Paul Harris. The Chicago attorney formed the Rotary Club of Chicago on 23 February 1905, so professionals with diverse backgrounds could exchange ideas and form meaningful, lifelong friendships.
Over time, Rotary’s reach and vision gradually extended to humanitarian service. Members have a long track record of addressing challenges in their communities and around the world.
