Local small businesses are invited to join the STAR roundtable in the form of a webinar on August 10th from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. mountain time.
Billed as a quarterly strategic teaming alliance roundtable, the purpose of the webinar will be to educate and guide local businesses through the process of becoming government contractors. Once seen as a niche need for small businesses in the Nebraska panhandle and eastern Wyoming, the idea of hometown businesses becoming government contractors is now a reality thanks to the Sentinel missile silo project.
The Sentinel project will bring as many as 8,000 people to the region between now and 2031. The US Air Force and its subcontractors will need everything from laundry services to welders and mechanics. The easiest way for the project to bring real economic growth to the area is for local businesses to step up and fill those needs.
The Wyoming Small Business Development Center has worked closely with the Air Force and its subcontractors on the needs of the stakeholders and the processes involved in becoming a government contractor. The Wyoming SBDC is hosting the webinar that will offer free resources, opportunities and insight to small businesses that feel they can support the Sentinel project.
