Scotts Bluff County Commissioners approve two improvement projects for local museum and fairgrounds

The Scotts Bluff County Commissioners approved two improvement projects for the Legacy of the Plains Museum and the Scotts Bluff County Fairgrounds on Monday.

GERING, Neb. (KNEP) - The Scotts Bluff County Commissioners approved two improvement projects for the Legacy of the Plains Museum and the Scotts Bluff County Fairgrounds on Monday.

The Legacy of the Plains will be awarded $150,000 to help improve and bring new attractions to the museum. The Scotts Bluff County Fairgrounds was awarded $23,500 to improve seating and disability accessibly. The money for both projects came from a capital improvement grant.

“They want to increase the amount of new visitation to the museum and to the area and this campaign will help them preserve and interrupt the area meaning in our area agricultural heritage” said Brenda Leisy, tourism director for Scotts Bluff County.
