Gering Police Department received multiple calls regarding a moose on the loose near Oregon Trail Park in Gering.

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNEP) - Gering Police Department received multiple calls regarding a moose on the loose near Oregon Trail Park in Gering.

First reported calls were from a Gering resident near 18th Street and D Street in Gering at 5:48am according to Travis Enlow, Gering sergeant.

Officers contained the moose for roughly one hour and pushed it out of town using different tactics including the help of a police drone.

Mutual aid assisted in operations by Gering Police Department, Scotts Bluff County Sheriff’s Office, and Nebraska Game and Parks.
