Lady Raiders Struggle at Aurora

AURORA NE. - The Sidney Lady Raider volleyball team lost two of three matches Saturday at the Aurora Invitational volleyball tournament in Aurora. Battling some key injuries, Sidney struggled to start the day with a 25-10, 25-11 loss to Crete in the opening round of the bracketed tournament. The Lady Raiders then lost to Lincoln Christian 25-18, 25-21 in the first round of consolation, before disposing of host Aurora 21-25, 25-16, 25-19 to finish in seventh place. Sidney, now 11-6 on the year, will look to bounce back on Tuesday when the travel to Scottsbluff to take on the 10-7 Bearcats. The Freshman game begins at 4:00 p.m., followed by the junior varsity. First serve for the varsity game is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. Catch all the varsity action on Tuesday on Cheyenne County Country.
