Commissioners approve two Conditional Use Permits
The Cheyenne County commissioners today, Monday, October 16, approved a conditional use permit for opening a machine shop, and a second to display and sell farm equipment.

SIDNEY (October 16, 2023) -- The Cheyenne County Commissioners approved two Conditional Use Permit requests this morning.
A public hearing was held for an application by David and Kelsey Green to open a machine shop northwest of Sidney.
"It's a trade I've been in 20-plus years," David Green said in the hearing.
He said his goal is to offer a local repair services for farmers and ranchers.
"I've got the equipment to do it," he said.
The second conditional use permit is for Daniel McMartin to display and sell farm equipment on a 10-acre parcel about five miles north of Sidney.
The commissioners also approved Visitors Committee funding for Sullivan Hills Camp north of Lodgepole.
Tourism Director Kendra Mitchell said the grant is to assist with an upgrade project planned for Sullivan Hills. She said the facility is used as a church camp for a few weeks in the summer, and otherwise can be rented throughout the year.
"It's more than just a youth camp," said commissioner Phil Sanders.
The grant is for $4,000.
Mitchell also updated the commissioners on the "All Is Bright Christmas Tour." The event is planned for an indoor walking tour of Christmas sites and decorations in December. She said she received a large donation of lights and decorations to be used for the event.
The commissioners also directed county attorney Paul Schaub to send a certified letter directing a landowner to move a fence from a right-of-way to the property line , the south side of Section 32, Township 13 North, Range 52 West of the 6th Principle Meridian.
