The Texas A&M International women's basketball team raised its record to 4-0 Sunday afternoon by besting Chadron State 91-64 in Laredo.

That's despite the fact that the Eagles shot 59% from the field, making 26 of their 44 shots. However, the Dustdevils forced their guests to turn the ball over 39 times before CSC could get off a shot.

International had 19 turnovers, but still took 75 shots from the field, and made 36 of them for 48%.

The Eagles are now 1-1 after defeating College of St. Mary of Omaha 88-64 in CSC's opener at home on Friday night.

The Dustdevils jumped out to a 25-17 first quarter lead and outscored the Eagles 30-14 in the second frame to own a 45-31 halftime lead.  The hosts also dominated the third period by a 19-9 margin. International relaxed its defensive pressure a bit in the fourth quarter, when the Eagles outscored the Dustdevils 24-17.

Both coaches substituted freely. All the members of each team played least nine minutes and no one from International played more than 21 of the 40 minutes.

The game's leading scorer was Dustdevils' senior Raiana Brown, who chalked up 17 points. Brown also was the top scorer a year ago when she tallied 22 points during the Texas team's 73-46 win in Chadron.

Also on Sunday, freshman Bridgette Tello scored 14 points and grad student Malea Jackson made three of six 3-pointers while adding 12 points.  In addition, Samiyah Worrall, who played guard for the Eagles the last two seasons, scored five points for the Dustdevils while making two-of-four field goal shots, one of them a 3-pointer.

Sophomores Kyra Tanabe and Allison Olsen each scored 10 points to lead the Eagles. Shay Powers made all four of her field goal shots and sank her only free throw for nine points. Olivia Waufle and Awoti Akoi each contributed seven points.
