SIDNEY -- The Cheyenne County Sheriff's Office, along with other County and State agencies serving Cheyenne County, gathered to recognize Deputy Zach Goodrich for 15 years of dedicated service with the Cheyenne County Sheriff's Department.
Deputy Goodrich is one of the hardest working, and most dedicated, individuals in law enforcement. During his 15 year career, Deputy Goodrich has not only served as Deputy Sheriff, but has also taken on extra duties during his time here including serving in a supervisory role, field training officer, investigator, range officer, armorer, SWAT and other training and mentoring roles. Deputy Goodrich has also been awarded the Cheyenne County Sheriff's Office lifesaver award.
Deputy Goodrich was recognized July 5, 2022 by the State of Nebraska for successful lifesaving efforts during a medical call in May 2022. In addition to the Life Savers Certificate, he was presented a Challenge Coin by survivor Denise Nelsen. The Cheyenne County Sheriff's Office vehicles are equipped with AED units as a result of a grant from the Helmsley Trust.
On behalf of Sheriff Frerichs, the entire Cheyenne County Sheriff's Office staff, and especially the citizens of Cheyenne County, thank you for your service over the last 15 years and we look forward to many more!
The Sheriff's Department would also like to recognize, and thank, Zach's family for their understanding, and support, as he watches over our community. The strongest people in law enforcement are often not the people that wear the badge; they are the people that stand behind those that choose this noble path.
