High West making progress in storm recovery

High West Energy linemen continue to reconnect electric service in the Panhandle.

PANHANDLE -- High West Energy officials report as of today with about 95 percent of the work completed, they have documented 582 broken poles, 158 poles replaced, 424 poles yet to be replaced.

Crews are still battling mud and weather conditions.

On April 9, crews set out to rebuild poles and lines, and continued to find more downed poles. Tuesday, April 9, crews recorded more than 400 poles on the ground with workers in the Potter and Peetz area. The hardest hit area is north of Potter.

On April 8 High West Energy crews were working to restore service until after dark. Eleven crews were back at it at the start of Tuesday, April 9.
