'EPIC: Be informed on its impacts' scheduled for May 7 in Sidney
1/2
SIDNEY -- Korby Gilbertson will be speaking on the impacts of EPIC 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, at the Fox Theatre.
EPIC stands for Eliminate Property Income (and inheritance), and Corporate taxes. Eliminating Property, Income, and inheritance taxes means you no longer have to pay the state rent on the property you already paid for, as stated on epicoption.org.
The website says Eliminating Corporate (all business) taxes means you never have to pay hidden taxes at the cash register. EPIC Option then replaces the sales tax with a consumption tax. This means residents no longer will pay tax when purchasing large used items like cars. Nor will they pay tax on groceries with this plan.
Gilbertson will be in Sidney to speak at a presentation potential impacts of the EPIC Option.
