KIMBALL -- Kimball Public Schools dedicates the week of May 6-10 to recognizing the school staff and all they do.

The week is officially known as National Teacher Appreciation Week, but with there being appreciation days for principals, teachers, school board members, bus drivers, and paraprofessionals, the school district wants to dedicate one week to celebrating everyone.

The staff members have surprises in store for them next week in celebration of their hard work and commitment to their jobs.

Superintendent Trevor Anderson gives a shoutout to the Mary Lynch Elementary Principal Amanda Culek and the Jr./Sr. High School Principal Danielle Reader.

One thing Reader does well is promoting academics, and that is reflected through the school’s academic achievement, says Anderson.

He adds that she works well with her staff to make sure everyone is meeting the students’ needs.

“What really stands out about [Culek] is her student improvement mentality and her professionalism in how she has dealt with some challenging situations,” Anderson says. “She puts the best interest of the students and district first, so I appreciate that.”

Culek hasn't had teacher turnover in her two years as principal, which is rare in academics, and Reader doesn't have teacher turnover going into the new school year. Anderson attributes it to the positive culture they’ve created in their schools.

Anderson says, “We’re happy to have them here at Kimball Public Schools, and I'm looking forward to continue to work with them in the future.”
