Kimball sports staff hosting annual fundraiser

KIMBALL -- The second annual Red and White Golf Classic is tomorrow, June 8.
Kimball Public Schools’ head coaches began hosting a golf tournament and banquet fundraiser for their sports programs. This is a replacement for the little fundraisers students would do by knocking door-to-door, such as selling cookie dough or wrapping paper.
“Hopefully it's a good thing for us and for the community,” said Darrell Howitt, Activities Director and High School Head Football Coach.
Students, however, will continue to do projects that serve the community, such as when the cheerleaders paint longhorns on community members’ sidewalks.
The Golf Tournament starts at 10 a.m., and 25 teams have been signed up so far. It’s not quite full yet, Howitt said, but spots are filling up. If you want to guarantee a spot for your team, be sure to sign up now.
Spots are still open to attend the Banquet and Silent Auction that starts at 6 p.m. at The Sage Brush. It costs $50 per person.
“We are Looking forward to a good time with red and white festivities,” Howitt said.
Contact Howitt at 308-539-5880 or any of the sports head coaches to get signed up for either event.
