Larsen’s Jewelry Store going out of business

KIMBALL -- Co-owner of Larsen’s Jewelry Store Greg Robinson announced the closing of his store this week.
“When deciding to close the store, there were many different reasons and considerations,” Robinson said. “What it finally came down to was my sister and I had to do what was right for us.”
Robinson said his sister who owns the other half of the store hasn’t been involved in running the business for quite some time, but it was a decision they made together.
Larsen’s Jewelry Store was first opened in 1926 by Robinson’s great grandparents Olaf and Julia Larsen. The business has been passed down the family line since then.
“We’ve kept it going for 98 years,” Robinson said. “It’s been a good run.”
There is not a specific closing date; he will keep the store open until everything sells.
The closing sales will be:
Thursday, June 27 from noon – 7 p.m.
Friday, June 28 from 9 a.m. - 7 p.m.
Saturday, June 29 from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Sunday, June 30 from noon – 4 p.m.
Robinson said: “When you've been in business for 98 years, you’ve had loyal customers; it’s truly because of our customers that we have been in business for 98 years. Without them, we wouldn't be here. I’d like to say thank you to our loyal customers for the 98 years; they've provided us a very nice livelihood – my entire family since my great grandfather.”
Robinson said he will technically be retired, but he will have plenty to take care of with the store like cleaning out all the stuff that has accumulated in the store over the years.
