STERLING - Braydon Zink's first concert at a Sterling, Colo. bar on July 18, 2014 featured an acoustic guitar, a music stand and a series of nerves.

Zink couldn't sleep the night of his performance, but he knew after his first show ever at Hootenannies, performing music is what he wanted to do with his life.

He packed up his things in Illiff, loaded into his vehicle and set his sights for Texas where his career would blossom to more than 1,100 shows and the release of several singles, including "The Way She Moved," "Threw Away" and "Let This Love Begin." He has opened for Rodney Atkins, Turnpike Troubadours, Travis Tritt, Tracy Byrd, Jack Ingram and Pat Green.

Zink marked a decade milestone of performing music with a special 10th Anniversary show in front over more than 150 people in an intimate setting at the Dorothy J Corsberg Theatre at ES French Hall at Northeastern Junior College in Sterling on Saturday night.

He shared the stories behind his songs while talking about the artists and music that influenced his career. The night featured original songs, new songs from his upcoming record and music that influenced him with his fiddle player Todd and bassist Felipe Carrillo. The trio were also the headliners for the second Downtown Sounds summer concert series in Sidney on Friday night.

Zink was overwhelmed with "so many different emotions."

"I'm just so grateful," Zink said. "I look back and I'm very hard on myself. My competitive spirit where I always want to do better and I always want to do more. Things like this I get time to reflect and be so thankful. It was filled with highs and lows. A lot of nights sleeping in a 15-passenger van before this. I'm just really glad to be back and share it with all the people that gave me the confidence to do that."

Zink's music is available on all streaming platforms and on radio station 987 The Big Boy
