Stuff the Ruck walks three communities
CHEYENNE COUNTY -- Stuff the Ruck kicked off at Wireless World at 9 a.m. on Saturday, August 24.
Military, first responders and a couple of very supportive civilians joined us in the event and marched a total of 9.5 miles split up between Sidney, Kimball and Potter.
The winner of the wooden flag silent auction went to Escape with Michelle. The event is still getting a few donations from the public. All proceeds will go toward the Potter Community Legion Hall and matching grant funds to get the project completed.
This event was not widely broadcast this year due to family events that occurred within the volunteer group that usually does it. However, organizers chose to continue with the event regardless of the number of participants.
"We still wanted to do it, no matter the turnout, to show our support to the Potter Legion group," said Brandy Stone.
She said there will be some changes made to next year’s event that hopefully will create more interest in the public for local veteran support.
