State announces internship program for businesses, workers

The Aksarban Foundation and the Nebraska Department of Economic Development are collaborating in support of an internship program statewide.

NEBRASKA -- internNE is announcing a grant that can reimburse up to $7,500 to a business providing an internship.

The internNE program is powered by Aksarben initiative. It was previously recognized as the Intern Nebraska Grant Program. It is a $20 million collaborative effort between the Aksarben Foundation and the Nebraska Department of Economic Development. The program aims to connect students and employers statewide by reimbursing eligible internship expenses.

Eligible employers must be a for-profit or or non-profit employer in the state of Nebraska. According to information provided by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Southern Panhandle. 

WNCC offering summer internship program

Western Nebraska Community College is encouraging businesses to host an intern this summer. 

The program connects businesses with talented, ambitious college students seeking to make an impact. 

The program includes structured career preparation workshops, networking support and work ethic development. Employer benefits include industry-relevant candidates, productivity boost and community recognition.

Drop-In Zoom meetings are scheduled for 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. October 1, noon to 1 p.m. October 24, 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. November 18 and 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. December 11.
