KIMBALL -- The Kimball Cross Country Team did well in the District Meet on Thursday – one runner earning a place in the State Meet.

The State Meet will be held October 25 at the Kearney Country Club in Kearney.

Braxton Miller placed 14th, making it to the State Meet. Conrad Kaminski placed 16th, just one place short of making State. Eddie Duran placed 51st. Connor Markum placed 56th, breaking his personal record. Wyatt Cook placed 70th.

The top 3 teams make it to State, and Kimball’s team placed 7th out of 15.

In the girls' race, Renee Murdoch placed 54th with a time of 36:02. It was the only year that Murdoch ran, and Head Coach Tiffany Johnson said she had a positive attitude and willingness to work day-in and day-out.

“It was such a good day and a great season” Johnson said. “We are so proud of each and every one of them. These kids started running this summer, consistently ran lots of miles with few complaints. They almost always had a positive attitude and wanted to improve each meet. We look forward to seeing what the State Meet has in store for Braxton.”
