SIDNEY, Neb - The first significant snowstorm of the season is blanketing Colorado’s high country regions.

The National Weather Service forecastw up to 10 inches of snow for the Park Range and Front Range mountains. Foothill areas are expected to see 3 to 8 inches.

As of Sunday afternoon, totals include 6 inches in Nederland, 5 inches in Eldora and 4 inches in Genesee. Snow is expected to continue through Monday morning, posing travel risks throughout the region.

Residents and travelers are urged to exercise caution and monitor weather updates.

Closer to home, Sidney is in for a cold and windy week. Monday will start with cloudy skies and winds, reaching a high of 49 degrees before dipping to 25 at night. Temperatures will climb slightly Tuesday, with highs near 54, but strong winds will persist.

A mix of rain and snow is expected to develop by Wednesday, with daytime temperatures only reaching 35. Light snow is possible on Thursday, with continued cloud cover and a high of 40 degrees. Friday and Saturday may bring additional snow showers, with highs in the low 40s.

Conditions are expected to improve next Sunday as skies clear, bringing sunshine and a milder high of 56.
