Sidney December students of the month
The Sidney School District Board of Education recognized the December 2024 students of the month at the January 13 board meeting.

SIDNEY -- The Sidney School District Board of Education recognized the December 2024 students of the month at the January 13 board meeting.
The Monthly Performance Award acknowledges other criteria as well as academic achievement.
These criteria are: 1. Superior academic performance, (or) dramatic improvement of classroom work, G.P.A., or attitude toward learning; 2. Exceptional work effort toward a particular class project; 3. Outstanding contribution toward to the class; 4. Leadership exhibited in the class/school; 5. Citizenship emphasized and modeled; and 6. Service to school.
Recognized for the December 2024 Performance Awards are:
7th grade -- Cash Meyer: Cash Meyer has a strong desire to accomplish the goals he sets for himself. He works well individually and understands the value of teamwork. Cash is respectful and considerate when encouraging others to do and be their best. Cash has a quiet strength that inspires others to believe in themselves. His level of self-responsibility is very high for a middle school student, as he maintains straight A's in the classroom. Cash is the son of Chris ad Lindsey Meyer.
8th grade -- Brayden Butts: Brayden consistently proves to the entire Middle School he has the qualities to be the best person he can be. Brayden always has a positive attitude towards everything he attempts and accomplishes. He never has a bad day. Brayden faces every challenge with a can-do attitude and will not stop until it is completed. His kindness and desire to assist everyone makes him an outstanding classmate and student. The Middle School staff agrees Brayden is respectful to teachers as well as students. His positive attitude, excellent work ethic, kindness and patience with others make him an excellent choice for Student Of the Month. Brayden is the son of Michael and Mindy Butts.
9th grade -- Macey Anderson: Macey is an exceptional student who consistently demonstrates a strong work ethic and a positive attitude toward her learning. She approaches her assignments with dedication and focus, ensuring that she completes all tasks on time and to the best of her ability. Macey is not only diligent in her own studies, but she also takes the time to assist her peers whenever they need help. Her kindness and willingness to offer support create a collaborative and inclusive environment in the classroom. Macey's conscientious nature and her ability to balance hard work with empathy make her a valuable member of the class. She consistently strives for excellence while maintaining a helpful and supportive attitude towards others. Macey is the daughter of Tyrell and Nichole Anderson.
10th grade -- Jamisyn Gusman: Jamisyn is a consistently positive and upbeat student who brings a vibrant energy to the classroom. She approaches every task with a determined and hardworking mindset, always putting in the effort to do her best, regardless of the challenge. Her enthusiasm and con-do attitude are contagious, often inspiring her peers to maintain a similar mindset. Additionally, Jamisyn is known for her polite and respectful demeanor towards both teachers and classmates. She interacts with others in a considerate and thoughtful manner, always displaying kindness and good manners. Her positive outlook, strong work ethic, and respectful attitude make her a valued member of the school community, creating a welcoming and encouraging environment for everyone around her. Jamisyn is the daughter of Ryan and Taryn Gusman.
11th grade -- Keian Kaiser: Keian is an incredibly active and engaged member of our high school community, making significant contributions both inside and outside of the classroom. He is a key figure in the athletic department, excelling in his sport while demonstrating strong teamwork and sportsmanship. In addition to his athletic pursuits, Keian plays an integral role in the SHS Student Council, helping to organize events and advocate for his peers. What truly sets him apart, however, is his kindness and thoughtfulness, especially toward the basketball student managers. He regularly ensures they have transportation to and from team events, showing his deep respect and appreciation for their contributions. Keian's leadership is evident in everything he does, as he consistently leads by example, balancing multiple responsibilities while fostering a positive and inclusive atmosphere at SHS. Keian is the son of Kurt and Sarah Kaiser.
12th grade -- Samantha Stokes: Samantha is a dedicated and hardworking student who consistently gives her best effort in everything she does. She approaches each assignment with focus and determination, demonstrating a strong commitment to her studies. Her work ethic and perseverance set a positive example for her peers. In addition to her academic diligence, Samantha is always a pleasure to have in class. Her positive attitude and friendly demeanor contribute to a welcoming and supportive classroom environment. She interacts with her classmates and teachers in a respectful and polite manner, making everyone feel valued and appreciated. Samantha's kindness and consideration for others create a harmonious atmosphere in the classroom and her consistent hard work and pleasant attitude make her a standout student. Samantha is the daughter of Greg and Julie Stokes.
