Two Sidney residents arrested in connection with recent stolen vehicle

A Sidney man and woman were arrested January 23 in on charges in connection with a car stolen near Sidney.

SIDNEY -- Two Sidney residents were arrested on charges in connection with the theft of a car near Sidney recently

At about 6:51 a.m. on Jan. 18, 2025, a Chevrolet Equinox was reported stolen from 10396 Road 12, Sidney.

The stolen vehicle was recovered on January 19 by Chief Deputy Jim Bush when he observed the stolen vehicle abandoned near Sioux Meadows Park. In speaking with residents in the area where the stolen vehicle was located, a suspect in the theft of the vehicle was developed. 

On Thursday, January 23, a search warrant was executed by members of the Cheyenne County Sheriff’s Office and the Sidney Police Department on a residence and a vehicle located in Cheyenne County. During the searches, several items of stolen property were recovered as well as illegal narcotics.

As of this press release, two suspects have been arrested. Benjamin P. Goetz, 45, of Sidney was arrested on an Outside County Warrant for Failure to Appear (Felony), one count of Theft by Unlawful Taking (Felony) and Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) (Felony) Bond is set at $100,000 10 percent. Ramona Miles, 32, of Sidney was arrested on charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver (Methamphetamine) (Felony), Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) (Felony) and Theft by Receiving Stolen Property (Felony). Bond is set at $100,000 10 percent. 

The Cheyenne County Sheriff's Office investigation into these matters is continuing.
