Scottsbluff teen pleads not guilty in murder case

A 16-year-old charged in connection with the fatal stabbing of a Scottsbluff teen pleaded not guilty Friday in Scotts Bluff County Court.

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. — A 16-year-old charged in connection with the fatal stabbing of a Scottsbluff teen pleaded not guilty Friday in Scotts Bluff County Court.

Corey Rotherham Jr. was arraigned in district court on one count of aiding and abetting second-degree murder, a Class 1B felony, and aiding and abetting use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony, a Class II felony.

His attorney, Michael Meister, filed a motion requesting the case be transferred to juvenile court. Judge Andrea Miller granted the motion for evaluation, but in the meantime, a pre-trial hearing is scheduled for May 21 at 8 a.m.

Rotherham Jr. is one of four individuals facing charges in connection with the death of Wyatt Reeb, who was fatally stabbed last month.

His bond remains set at $1 million.
