Planning is well underway for the 2025 Kimball Longhorn All Class Reunion, with activities to be held Thursday, July 3rd to Sunday, July 6th.  Organizers of the upcoming KHS All Class Reunion believe that the planned mix of a traditional reunion program along with new and unique events will appeal to all attendees.

“Our goal was to build upon the success of prior reunions by creating a weekend that all can enjoy,” said Kim Baliman, Reunion Coordinator.  “Past KHS All Class Reunions have been very successful; the first was approximately 30 years ago and is still fondly remembered by those who attended.  Our most recent reunion was in 2015 and consisted of 500 attendees coming from many states.  We even had someone who traveled from Japan!  With this kind of energy and enthusiasm, we want to not only give our alumni a chance to catch up and reconnect, but also offer our community members opportunities to be involved.”

For instance, Baliman pointed out that the reunion banquet, which will be held at the high school at 6pm on Saturday, July 5th, is open to all KHS graduates and community members.  As part of the evening program, an alumni band and an alumni choir, directed by KHS grads Erik Nielsen and Tom O’Brien, respectively, will perform.  Baliman asked that any community member who wishes to participate let her know.  “We would love for any musicians who can play an instrument or sing to perform that evening.  You do not have to be a KHS alumni to be a part of this.”

Beyond the traditional reunion banquet and program, Baliman and her committee have created a weekend full of fun and entertaining activities.  Committee member Jamie Nelson is the organizer for the Business Fair & Vendor Market and Youth Entrepreneur Fair, which will be held Saturday, July 6th, from 9am to 12pm at the 4-H building.

“I’m modeling this event on the traditional weekend craft fairs/farmers markets that are common where I live in Texas,” Nelson said.  “I’m especially excited about the Youth Entrepreneur Fair.  This will provide children ages 5-18 the opportunity to create a product and then market and sell it in a safe and supportive environment.  Local business people will serve as judges, interviewing the young entrepreneurs and later giving them feedback on their product and presentation.  Prizes will be given for best product, marketing, and salesmanship.  My own daughter participated in one last year and earned almost $200 while receiving valuable feedback on her business plan.  I hope that all will come out to support these entrepreneurs.”

To further assist the youth of Kimball, Nelson noted that local students will be serving a complimentary breakfast at this event to all attendees, with a freewill donation opportunity.  “KHS high school teacher Mr. Matt Shoup and his history class are raising money to fund an educational trip to Greece.  Thanks to the generosity of Evertson Ranches in sponsoring this event, all donations at the breakfast will go toward this trip.  Please join us and enjoy breakfast and fellowship with others while supporting our entrepreneurs of all ages.”
