KIMBALL -- Police say a Bridgeport man has been issuing a string of bad checks in multiple counties, including Kimball County.

Twenty-one-year-old Izac Harms appeared in Kimball County District Court Tuesday afternoon where he pled not guilty to Class 4 Felony issuing a bad check.

According to the police affidavit, the Kimball County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the local Ace Hardware last month regarding a couple of bad checks.

The manager informed the authorities that the checks totaling $2,166.85 were returned for insufficient funds and that she contacted the individual – identified as Izac Harms – to request payment, which he was unable to do.

Upon further investigation, deputies found that Harms is also under investigation for bad checks in Morrill County.

Harms remains in custody at the Kimball County Jail where his bond is set at $10,000 with the right to post 10%.

His attorney Stacy Bach has requested a reduction, which is still under review.

His next court appearance is November 4.

All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
