Colorado man arrested for attempting theft of bill changer at Kimball business

DOUGLAS COUNTY, CO -- A 55-year-old Colorado man was arrested in Douglas County, Co weeks after allegedly attempting to steal the bill changing machine from a Kimball business.
Tyson Swa was taken into custody Sept. 22 on an arrest warrant for Felony Theft and Criminal Mischief.
He was extradited back to the Kimball County Jail where he remains in custody with a bond of $25,000 with the right to post 10%.
According to Chief of Police Jose Ruiz, on August 8, patrons witnessed a man stealing the bill changing machine from Clothes Minded Laundromat.
They notified the owners, who also own Beer & Loathing, and when they went outside to confront him, he fled.
Officers of the KPD were dispatched to the scene, and upon further investigation, they were able to identify the suspect as Swa and obtained an arrest warrant.
“The bill changer was bolted down, so he had to pull it off of its foundation and caused damage to the mounting hardware in the process, so that’s where the criminal mischief charge comes in,” Ruiz said.
All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
