Hometown Liquor supports Creek Valley's Lightning Robotics team
The Creek Valley Lightning Robotics team received a $1,700 donation from Hometown Liquor recently as part of the business' "Round Up for Charity" program.

SIDNEY --During the month of September, Hometown Liquor of Sidney raised money through their “Round Up for Charity” program on behalf of the Creek Valley Lightning Robotics Team.
Hometown Liquor raised more than $1,700 for the program.
CVS Lightning competed with teams across the country in the BEST Robotics Challenge in 2023 and 2024.
The robotics group also took a small team to Colorado School of Mines in the spring to compete in a plastic ant-weight battlebot tournament. There are about 30 students participating on High School and Middle School teams for the BEST Robotics Competition which is based on Artificial Intelligence this year.
Coaches John and Shonda Russell would like to express their sincere gratitude to Hometown Liquor, as well as our many other sponsors who help support our Robotics team. Your support matters and shows a community who cares about the future of their students.
Proceeds will go towards team shirts, 3D Printer, practice field, travel, registration fees and other similar expenses. If you are interested in becoming a sponsor of the Creek Valley Lightning, please reach out via email to: [email protected].
BEST Robotics describes the challenge as being given a box of what looks like unrelated parts and designing a fully functional robot for competition in about eight weeks.
