SIDNEY - The Sidney City Council is forming a selection committee to lead the search for the community’s next city manager, the city announced Tuesday.

The committee will include two members of the City Council, the city’s human resources director, city clerk, city attorney and three community members. Mayor Brandon Bondegard and City Councilman Jeremy Lee will represent the council on the committee.

The City of Sidney is now accepting letters of consideration from residents interested in serving as one of the three community representatives. Letters will be reviewed and participants will be selected by the City Council.

The deadline to submit letters is 3 p.m. on Nov. 3, 2025. Submissions may be mailed or dropped off at the City Clerk’s Office, 1115 13th Avenue, Sidney, NE 69162.

The formation of the selection committee is part of the city’s process to identify and hire a new city manager following the resignation of David Scott in September. Josh Hanson is currently serving as the interim city manager.
