Severe weather possible over parts of Nebraska Panhandle Wednesday evening

The National Weather Service is tracking the potential for severe weather in the Nebraska Panhandle Wednesday evening.

The National Weather Service is tracking the potential for severe weather in the Nebraska Panhandle Wednesday evening. 

The ideal time for storms to develop is between 2:00 and 8:00 p.m. Wednesday. 

Most of the Panhandle is a marginal risk (dark green) for severe weather.

Eastern Cheyenne, Morrill and Box Butte Counties as well as Deuel, Garden and parts of Sheridan County are in a slight risk (yellow). 

50-60 mph wind gusts, pea to quarter sized hail and brief heavy rainfall will be possible in the strongest of storms, according to the National Weather Service..

Storms will begin to dissipate by early to mid-evening.
